How many times each day do I deny You, Lord? Do You keep score?
How many chances to give You glory do I miss? Is there a list?
And how many of Your great ideas do I claim to be my own?
And how many chances to receive Your love do I ignore?

What will it take for You, my God, to break through all my pride?
Is that the thing that holds me back from letting You inside?
How long will I carry on?
Relying on my stubborness to see me through?
Always counting on the things of 'me' and not the things of You?

How many times each day do You reach out for me? When will I see?
How many chances to share Your love do I pass by? Do I live a lie?
And how many of Your perfect plans have I messed up with my own?
And how many times have You stood near just waiting to forgive?

What will it take for You, my God, to break through all my pride?
Is that the thing that holds me back from letting You inside?
How long will I carry on?
Relying on my stubborness to see me through?
Always counting on the things of 'me' and not the things of You?

Oh, and it seems that far to many times I meet You in this way
mmm, asking Lord please forgive me, I've messed up again today.
Oh, and in my broken humanness it seems hard to believe:

That Your Love has no limits!
That Your Love knows no boundary!
That Your Love can break through, will break through, Lord, this day!

Whatever it takes, oh Father God, to break through all my pride.
Whatever is needed, Lord, to fill my spirit up inside.
I'm taking each step back to You, to get my heart to beat with Yours in ev'ry way!
Oh, thank You God for loving me the patient way You do!
And it makes no diff'rence if I'm far or near to You
'cause either way You wait for me to hear Your Voice, to humbly come and say:

"Forgive my selfish ways and help me live my life for You,
in all I do."
