Well, we just shared in our first event of 2009, sharing in the youth celebration event on Friday, February 27th which kicked off the Guelph Citadel 125th Anniversary Weekend. We enjoyed sharing and making music with the Georgetown Community Church worship team and the Christian rock band “Church On Fire” (also based out of Georgetown corps).

April will see the group return to the Toronto area for a few events, including the Palm Sunday service at the North York Temple corps (April 5th) and a musical evening at Scarborough Citadel. We’re definitely looking forward to these opportunities to share our music and message in the GTA.

Stay tuned! God is moving in mighty and exciting ways!

My apologies to the faithful who have been waiting for me to finally update the website! I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I’ve left a news update!

SO much has happened in the last year… here is just some of all that we have to be thankful for:

• The AMAZING experience of our Celebration Concert in February 2008!!
• some fun gigs in April at Woodstock with Exalt and at Winterberry corps
• help from some excellent filler-in folk, such as Karen Gross on soprano and Dave Samson on drums
• a wonderful weekend away at Eastwood Citadel in Windsor
• Kevin got married to Erin’s sister!
• Erin got married too!
• Janine and Doug are expecting their first child in 2009!!

God is good! Here’s to all that 2009 holds!!

Mark Saturday, February 9th @ 7pm on your calendars! Marked By Love is hosting a concert at The Salvation Army Guelph Citadel and you’re invited!

Admission is free. CDs will be available for purchase at $20 each. And again, all that money goes to the Ethembeni Babies Home in Johannesburg, South Africa. Plus, there will be refreshments following the concert! Come out and have a nice evening with us and join in the celebration!!

Marked By Love has a few Christmas events scheduled and has a number of things actively in the works for 2008! So keep an eye on the event calendar!

Online CD purchasing should “go live” on Monday, August 12th. Spread the word around and get your clicker finger ready for some CD shopping.

Well, we’re part way through August. How did that happen?? The Marked By Love crew has been very busy this summer, but in all different directions. Come the Fall we’ll be back together, promoting the CD, singing at different events, and doing whatever else God places in our paths. Erin returns home from Botswana at the end of the month, so please continue to pray for her and for a safe trip home. Before we know it, we’ll all be deep into the regular routine of work and school and corps activities.

Well, friends, we’ve hit the summertime and many of us can take it easier these next few weeks than we’re able to during the rest of the year. But even with the slowdown there are still lots of interesting things going on behind the scenes for Marked By Love.

CD sales got off to an excellent start and Erin McNeilly (currently hard at work over in Botswana!) was able to take the first installment of funds raised and deliver it in person to the folk at Ethembeni! How exciting that is for us and how wonderful it is for Erin to have reconnected with her friends there again. She’ll have lots to share with us when she returns, I’m sure. Her regular emails tell us that she is doing well over in Africa and that she has a very adventurous streak in her!! Please keep Erin in your prayers.

Donna is still working to figure out the best way to make CDs available for purchase via this website. Hopefully it won’t be much longer before something is live online for our friends from all over to get in on the fund raising!
